Glofox alternative

A Glofox alternative with a fixed price and local data

For a studio that runs members and classes from the front desk and does not need a branded app, a practical Glofox alternative is cronowiz Studio: a desktop program for €199 once, with data on the gym’s computer. If a client app and automated communications are central to how you work, Glofox is the better fit.

Gym overview in cronowiz Studio: active members, today's classes, subscriptions and medical certificates to follow up, with phone numbers alongside

ABC Glofox is a cloud platform for boutique studios and gyms: HIIT, Pilates, boxing, cycling, personal training. It offers class scheduling, a member app branded with your studio, retention and customer-insight reports, automated communications (Amplify), a Trainerize integration for workouts, and support in more than 80 countries. The official page publishes no prices; you request a quote. Third-party sources report plans from $99 a month on annual contracts or quarterly billing with no monthly option; the vendor does not confirm this on its site.

cronowiz Studio has a written price: €199 once, for the major version you buy and all its updates. It is a program for Windows 10/11 and 64-bit Linux that keeps members, medical certificates, plans, memberships, the class schedule and reports in a single file on the gym’s computer. After purchase it works offline, without an account, with unlimited members.

The underlying difference is what you are buying. With Glofox you buy a service that includes a channel to your clients: app, notifications, messages. With Studio you buy a tool for whoever is at the desk. If you already reach clients another way, a text or a call, the part that remains is the part Studio covers.

Quoted subscription or fixed-price licence

A quoted cloud service is paid for as long as you use it, and the cost depends on what you negotiate. In return the vendor runs the servers, updates the software and gives your clients an app. Without a connection, though, the front desk cannot work, and the data sits on the vendor’s servers.

Studio turns this around: you pay once, it runs on the front-desk computer and keeps working with the line down. The licence is tied to one computer and can be moved to another up to 3 times, started from the old one while it is online. There is no web version: it is a program, not a service.

When Glofox is the better choice

Glofox fits better if your studio runs on app bookings, with clients seeing the schedule, booking and paying on their own; if you want an app with your brand; if you need automated messages to clients or recurring billing; or if you have several locations to keep together. Studio does none of this.

It also fits better if you use Trainerize for workout programmes and want it connected to your management system. Studio analyses workouts recorded with the cronowiz app or .fit files, but it does not deliver programmes to clients.

What you do by hand with Studio

Bookings are entered by the front desk, choosing the member and the class; the waiting list updates itself when a place opens. Payments are taken with the terminal or method you already use, and Studio records the membership sale.

Reminders to clients come from you: the daily overview lists who has expired and who expires today, this week or within 30 days, with phone numbers, and the at-risk list shows who attends less or has been inactive for at least 14 days.

Your gym in one program. Your data in your gym.

The questions people usually ask

How much does Glofox cost?

The official site publishes no prices and asks you to request a quote. Third-party sources mention plans from $99 a month on annual or quarterly terms; this is not confirmed by the vendor.

Does Studio have a client app like Glofox?

No. Studio is used on the front-desk computer. Clients have no app to book or pay.

Can I manage class waiting lists?

Yes. Each class has a capacity; extra bookings go to a waiting list and are promoted when a place frees up. No-shows are recorded too.

Do I need an internet connection?

Only to buy and activate the licence. After that Studio works fully offline and the data stays on the computer.

Can I use it on two computers at once?

Yes, with a licence for each. The gym PC holds the data and the others connect to it as workstations; each licence can be moved to another computer up to 3 times.
