The model holds up because there is no server we run on your behalf: Studio is offline gym management software, with the data in a file on the gym’s computer. There is no recurring cost on our side, so there is no reason to pass one on to you.

How buying works
You download Studio for Windows or Linux and install it. At first launch you read and accept the terms of sale, then buy from inside the program through Stripe. When payment completes, the licence activates on that computer.
The licence is tied to one computer. If you replace the PC you move it yourself, starting from the old computer while it is online, up to three times. There is no account to manage.
One honest note: the perpetual licence is activated immediately at your request, so there is no right of withdrawal for a change of mind. The legal guarantee of conformity still applies if the program does not do what is described. Full terms are at cronowiz.com/licenze/termini/.
When it actually pays off
The comparison is simple: add up what you pay in fees over a year and set it against €199. For a gym or studio that uses the core features – members, memberships, schedule, expiry tracking, reports – the difference shows within the first year.
The sums change if you need things Studio does not do: a member app, online self-booking, card payments or recurring billing, turnstiles. Those features need a server that is always on, and it is fair for them to be billed as a subscription. If you need them, a subscription service is the sensible choice.

For €199 you get the whole program, with no add-on modules: members and medical certificates, plans and memberships, a schedule with recurring classes, capacity and waiting list, one-off appointments, the daily expiry overview, the monthly report with CSV export, the at-risk members list and training analysis for athletes. No features are held back for a higher tier.
The interface is available in 14 languages, with regional formats for dates, times and money. Members and athletes are unlimited. The data lives in a file on your computer, with backup and restore from the settings: if you ever stop using Studio, the file is still yours and the reports can still be exported.
